Cheap Iceland Flight: Vienna, Austria to Reykjavik for Just 30 Euro!
Take a cheap Wizz Air flight from Vienna, Austria to Reykjavik in Iceland with return tickets costing just 30 euro!
To the wild north
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air currently has some great prices filed for their flights from the Austrian capital of Vienna to the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik.
Flight prices start at just 30 euro return – which is an absolute steal for a destination which normally is relatively expensive to fly to, especially from Central Europe.
Autumn and winter
These cheap flights can be booked for both the autumn and winter season, which are both wonderful times to visit Iceland. Although the bulk of tourists visit Iceland in summer, the country is actually a great year-round destination.
The fabulous Icelandic landscape look equally perfect in winter snow as they do in green summer colours. Besides, by travelling in autumn and winter you have a chance of seeing the Northern Lights as the Icelandic polar light season runs from September to March.
Wizz Air
These cheap fares can only be booked directly through the website or mobile app of Wizz Air. Do note that these low fares are only available to Wizz Air discount club members. If you are not yet a member of the Wizz Air discount club you pay 10 EUR more for each one-way flight.
You can easily add a year’s membership to the Wizz Air discount club during the booking process and immediately profit from the discounts. In general you need to book three one-way flights on Wizz Air each year to recoup the membership costs.
Baggage
Like most budget airlines, you will have to pay extra to check in a bag or even to take a trolley on board as carry-on. With Wizz Air, these basic fares only include a small rucksack as cabin luggage.
Upgrading your carry-on luggage to a normal size trolley or checking in a bag will be subject to extra charges. As a Wizz Air discount club member you do get a 5 euro discount on a checked bag.
COVID-19
Although Iceland is currently open towards tourists from EU and Schengen Zone states, there are some special entry requirements in place due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic.
Every passenger is required to fill in a pre-registration form before travelling to Iceland. They can then choose between submitting two COVID-19 screening tests separated by five days of quarantine (until the results of the second test are known), or opt for a full 14-day quarantine after arrival.
Check the Icelandic Government website for more details about the Nordic country’s rules and regulations regarding the corona virus outbreak.
