Twelve Percent Discount on Qatar Airways Flights From Germany
Qatar Airways is celebrating its cooperation project with FC Bayern Munich by handing out a 12 percent discount code on all flights departing Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
To highlight the cooperation, Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena external stadium lights will change from the club’s traditional red-and-white colours to Qatar Airways’ trademark burgundy red during the home match against Werder Bremen on 14th December. People who book a Qatar Airways ticket through this promotional offer are also automatically entering in a raffle to win VIP tickets to a Bayern Munich game or a signed football jersey.
How can I get the discount?
When booking a flight on Qatar Airways, you need to enter the promo code ‘MIASANQR’ during the booking process to get the 12 percent discount. Make sure that the promo code has been applied before payment, as you cannot get the discount retrospectively. The code is only valid for sales between 9th December and 22nd December.
Are there any caveats?
Unfortunately quite a few, yes. First of all, the promotion code will only work when departing from an airport in Germany, Switzerland or Austria served by Qatar Airways. These are Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Zurich, Geneva and Vienna. A rail&fly ticket including travel from any German railway station to one of these airports is also covered by the discount.
The biggest limitation can however be found in the destinations to which the discount applies. You can only get a 12 percent discount when flying to these destinations: Bangkok, Phuket, Bali (Denpasar), Cape Town, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Only Qatar Airways flights with a connection through the airline’s hub in Doha are valid. The discount only applies on travels between 1st January 2020 and 31st March 2020.
Booking classes
The discount is valid for business class as well as for economy class flights. Economy flights and business class flights in ‘semi’ or ‘saver’ fares get the full twelve percent discount. Any ‘promo’ fare only gets a 10 percent discount. No discounts are given on fully flexible fares.
Do note that the discount will only be applied to the net flight price and not to any taxes or special fees and surcharges. For example, government and airport taxes levied on flight tickets (which are always included in the final ticket price) will not be discounted by 12 percent – only the net flight price which Qatar Airways charges.

In short
If you were already planning to book a holiday in the winter months to a warm destination from Germany, Switzerland or Austria this Qatar Airways promotion might be useful. Especially on a business class ticket, a 12 percent discount can mean a substantial saving. Given the limitations in destinations and travel period, this offer might however not be suitable for a wider audience.
